That entry never came.
To be honest, I must have sat down and tried to write it five or six times but it never felt right to me. Whenever I would re-read the entry I felt it sounded too accusatory. So I finally just abandoned the idea and moved on to other blog topics. Now while this is definitely my least favorite audience type, I don't get mad at those people, mostly because I do kind of understand where they are coming from. So all thoughts of writing about this subject went away for months.
Then, during my Blumhouse performances I started playing with the script for one of my tricks. While working the new patter out, I wound up starting to explore this idea with my audience. It was actually very interesting to me hearing from the people watching a magician why people would act a certain way toward that person. During these conversations I started to think about why these people are the way they are and this post started to form again. Finally a couple of weeks ago I dealt with one of the worst offenders I had had ever met and I knew pretty quick I was going to finally finish what I had started.
When I sat down again the post came a lot easier, helped by those conversations with my spectators. The post definitely came out a lot less mean-spirited than the first couple attempts and I was happy to have finally kept a 5 month old promise!
